Carinthian-born artist Ulrich Plieschnig (Klagenfurt 1959) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Plieschnig's work encompasses painting, drawing and graphic art. He moves between abstraction and representationalism, drawing his impulses from memories and emotions. The artist's reduced repertoire of colors is not only painted onto the support material with brushes, but also complemented by a precise pouring process. This creates horizontal and vertical gutter traces that lend the overall composition a certain organic effect.
