Siegfried Zaworka (Wolfsberg 1972) studied painting at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg and at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The STRABAG Artcollection includes a series of lithographs and a large work on canvas that Zaworka created during his stay as artist-in-residence at the STRABAG Artstudio. Inspired by Bruno Gironcoli's monumental sculptures, prints and drawings, which are also located in the STRABAG building - in the so-called Gironcoli-Kristall - Zaworka explored, among other things, the multi-perspectival levels of meaning in Gironcoli's works. In the work Gironcolized Pseudoreference, in which only a monochrome crocodile's mouth can be seen, Zaworka refers to precisely these artificial references. In 2001 Siegfried Zaworka received a Bauholding Kunstförderpreis, the predecessor of the STRABAG Artaward.
