Ingmar Alge (Höchst 1971) studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Wolfgang Hollegha. In his works, the artist often deals with places of waiting, squares, spaces or landscapes that are only fleetingly visited by people. Mobility, absence and light - as a natural or artificial source - are also essential atmospheric elements in Alge's works. He is inspired by photographic templates - self-made or found - from magazines and journals. He is a sensitive observer and usually reveals his impressions subtly and unobtrusively in his works. In 2002 he received a Bauholding Kunstförderpreis, the predecessor of the STRABAG Artaward. Ingmar Alge lives and works in Dornbirn.
