Jochen Höller (Amstetten 1977) devoted himself entirely to the medium of paper after studying sculpture at the Linz University of Art. At the beginning of his creative process, Höller literally dissects books: the artist assembles his works from carefully cut-out words of important works of scientific and religious literature. They are intended to encourage the viewer to engage on a philosophical level with elementary themes from society, technology, economics, politics, religion and culture. Jochen Höller is the winner of the STRABAG Artaward International 2016 and lives and works in Vienna.
