Constantin Luser (Graz 1976) studied Industrial Design at the College of Applied Sciences Graz, Conceptual Art at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and Visual Media at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. In his stringent artistic practice he uses - also in combination - a wide variety of media; he is a draftsman, painter and sculptor. However, the line or drawing in the sense of an expanded concept of drawing always forms the basis for Luser's work. He combines his expansive wall drawings with hanging wire sculptures, the so-called space drawings, which are filigree and exuberant at the same time and allow the drawing to form a third dimension through their cast shadows on the floor, ceiling and walls. Luser's mirror drawings also evoke different viewing possibilities through light, shadow, and reflections. In addition, the artist deals intensively with music and sound: he designs sculptures by deforming, alienating and combining musical instruments and elicits new sound experiences from them. Constantin Luser has already participated in numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, including in Paris, Berlin, Zurich and London. In 2020 he was awarded the Dagmar Chobot Sculpture Prize.
