WolfGeorg (Feldkirch 1987) was born Georg Fitz, but has such a strong inner relationship with wolves that he chose the artist name WolfGeorg. WolfGeorg has remained faithful to the subject of dogs and wolves for many years, depicting the animals in ever wilder and more dangerous situations. He is brave and not afraid of them, rather they are sentinels that bare their teeth and stand faithfully and vigilantly by the artist's side. Using permanent markers on paper, WolfGeorg brings them to life with bright colors, detailing their body language, teeth, eyes and claws. Figurative and abstract elements merge in one and the same work; the artist pays special attention to the decorative geometric patterning of the surfaces and backgrounds. For several years, WolfGeorg has also devoted himself to sculpture, assembling large wooden sculptures from many painted individual parts - again, mostly wolves or other animals - that bear an independent and unique artistic style.
