Catherine Biocca (Rome 1984) studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and was the winner of the STRABAG Artaward International 2015. By swapping and deforming different media, Catherine Biocca combines diverse dimensional levels in her low-fi works and creates a new scenario: the result, this form of media displacement consisting of animation, two-dimensional and three-dimensional elements, is immediately perceived by the viewer as a whole. Biocca's direct visual language creates an absurd realization through repetition and at the same time questions the generation of schadenfreude as well as the legitimization of violence as a form of entertainment.
