Johannes Ramsauer (Eisenstadt 1961) studied painting and printmaking with Professor Johannes Wanke. The artist is committed to abstraction and describes his work process as follows: "In my painting I mainly create lyrical abstract color compositions, sometimes very expressive, which mainly contain forms from nature, but do not depict nature. This results in color surfaces that are charged with tension and can be interpreted in a variety of ways, spots that have a diverse internal structure and appeal to the emotional level in the viewer." Johannes Ramsauer lives and works in Trausdorf. In 1997 he received a STRABAG Bauholding Art Promotion Award, the predecessor of the STRABAG Artaward.
