Peter Kogler (Innsbruck 1979) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and teaches as professor for graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich. His distinctive media-, space- and architecture-related works have a significant impact on the international art scene. Spatial installations were shown at the Venice Biennale and twice at the documenta in Kassel, making Peter Kogler one of the most important Austrian artists internationally. In his graphics and installations, Kogler often uses the metaphor of the ant and the rat as well as tube-like and organic proliferating elements, thus referring to the potentials, but also to the pitfalls of the technologized, digitalized society.
