Georg Pinteritsch (Villach/AT 1986) studied at the Linz University of Art. In his original visual language he combines the most diverse elements from various cultural and historical contexts. As in a "cultural collage", completely heterogeneous pieces are meticulously executed with ink, marker or colored pencil. He draws lines, strokes and surfaces that are neatly arranged in their structure and yet could not be more contradictory in content. Thus beauty and ugliness, hedonism and asceticism, the secular and the divine, explicit eroticism and implicit violence, the symbolic and the realistic collide. There are many ideas previously sketched on paper by the artist, notes from the past and present, but detached from any particular position. The artist tries to catch and unite in his works all that occupies him. Pinteritsch unites what at first glance seems incompatible, he makes leaps in time in which he couples car brands with biblical themes or makes references to medieval book art. All of this can be found on his small formats and immersed in a new cosmos. Georg Pinteritsch received a recognition award from the STRABAG Artaward International in 2022.
