Otto Zitko (Linz 1959) studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. At the end of the 1980s he turned away from conventional painting and declared the line to be his programmatic principle. Dynamic networks of lines have characterized his artistic work ever since, both in prints, in oil and acrylic paintings and with soot on reverse glass, and in situ. Zitko has drawn his lines on and in buildings all over the world, for example in New York, New Delhi, Berlin, Venice, Madrid, and St. Petersburg, thereby creating creative suspense in the respective perception of space.
