Ira Svobodová (Prague/CZ 1986) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Her early work shows the influence of the specific formal vocabulary of modern or contemporary architecture. In the years that followed, Svobodová also increasingly explored the possibilities of geometric modeling and the exploration of spatiality using clean lines, structures, and surfaces. In doing so, Svobodová always works in series and deals intensively with one theme over a longer period. Her artistic signature is characterized by a strict precise order and the careful use of color and composition creating a tension between depth, space, surface, and three-dimensionality.
