Anouk Lamm Anouk (no gender, no age, no origin) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and at the Berlin University of the Arts. In her color reduced paintings, the artist usually works directly on the unprimed canvas. Delicate, restrained motifs - innocent lambs, horses and other animal creatures or round shapes - Anouk picks up again and again. The works unfold a spherical-spiritual mood and perform a constant tightrope walk between figuration and abstraction. The artist's range of themes is multi-layered, dealing with femininity, same-sex love, identity and visibility. Early experiences and growing into a body with the wrong gender connotations shaped an already extensive body of work that openly confronts pain and transforms it into beauty and power. In the process, Anouk Lamm Anouk also repeatedly adds writing to her work: The mantra-like, contemplative words or phrases are a reference to the artist's spiritual cosmos. Anouk Lamm Anouk is the winner of the STRABAG Artaward International 2021.
