Christine Jackob Marks (Mainz 1943) completed studies in painting and education at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. In addition to her work as a painter, she also worked as a therapist in the youth psychiatric service. After beginnings in still life painting, landscape is now the artist's central motif. With ink and charcoal drawings and in large-format oil paintings, Christine Jackob-Marks formulates her very specific pictorial language, pursuing not the claim of exact reproduction but the exploration of her visual perception. The act of painting and capturing moods on paper and canvas are deeply emotional acts for the artist. In addition to her artistic activities, Christine Jackob-Marks has also been a lecturer at the Berlin University of the Arts and the Thuringian Summer Academy. Today she lives and works in Berlin and Ibiza.
