Britta Keber (Klagenfurt 1960) studied at the University of Applied Arts Vienna with Maria Lassnig and Christian Ludwig Attersee. Keber's work focuses on painting, but drawing is also an important process in her work. The rhythm of the stroke is decisive - intuitively, powerfully and impulsively she works her canvases. Keber paints mostly expressive abstract, yet figurative forms can be found in her works again and again. With earthy, often dark tones she plays on the substrate in a fast ductus and adds collage-like elements. In 1994, Britta Keber received a Bauholding Kunstförderpreis, the predecessor of the STRABAG Artaward.
