Alice Nikitinová (Zatec/CZ 1979) studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Her work is characterized by a sober, minimalist style. In large formats she paints everyday objects. The viewer receives concrete visual information, and yet the strong reduction in color and representation seems to leave room for interpretation. The artist skillfully varies the proportions and gives banal everyday things space and surface to be perceived. Nikitinová focuses on the surface, the structure, and the relationship of the sizes on the carrier material. Her work appears timeless and underpinned by a subtle irony. Alice Nikitinová received a recognition award in 2011 as part of the STRABAG Artaward International.
