Slovak artist Lucia Tallová (Bratislava 1985) studied painting and sculpture in Bratislava. Her large-scale, atmospheric landscape paintings combine two contradictory visual experiences: that of industrial society and that of a dream landscape. Abstract and decorative elements complement each other in the large-scale, poetic and mystical works. In doing so, Lucia Tallová explores the possibilities of decorative and ornamental artistic techniques and integrates them into her work. In combination with the depiction of abandoned places, the negotiation of themes such as femininity, tenderness and exuberant decorativeness leads to an atmospherically dense, interesting contrast and the creation of ephemeral dreamscapes. Lucia Tallová received a recognition award at the STRABAG Artaward International in 2010.
