The works of Doris Theres Hofer (Linz 1979) only look like painting at first glance, like random brushstrokes on unprimed canvas. On closer inspection, one realizes that the paint has been applied with needle and thread, that these are embroidery works. Here, the fleeting effect of the color stains stands in strong contrast to their lengthy and laborious creation. The time factor plays a major role in Hofer's working method; a commitment of the artist to slowness and deceleration. Doris Theres Hofer received a recognition award of the STRABAG Artaward International 2014.
