Alfredo Barsuglia (Graz 1980) studied painting and graphics at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Realistically painted animals, plants or furnishings on canvases are always merely a component in the work of the artist. They often form only the entry point into a world he has created. Barsuglia juxtaposes various media and complements his room-sized installations as a director or participant with performance, acting, but also singing or cooking. In his exhibitions, which are always conceived site-specifically, he creates stage sets in which the viewers are invited to act as actors as well. In 2018, Alfredo Barsuglia received a recognition award in the course of the STRABAG Artaward International.
