Julia Maurer (Vienna 1983) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Walter Obholzer and Erwin Bohatsch. In 2008 she received a recognition award from the STRABAG Artaward. Maurer's mostly small-format, sensitive paintings and drawings, as well as her tiny, playful objects, which she often combines on the wall as multi-part installations, have an intimate character. Her works show a love of detail, of atmospheric landscapes and of people in their individuality, they are enigmatically serious, almost melancholic content.
