The painter and graphic artist Peter Kubovsky (Breclav/South Moravia 1930-2014 Linz) came to Upper Austria in 1945 as a war refugee, where he studied at the University of Art in Linz. From 1973-1996 he taught the master class for painting and graphic arts at the Art University Linz. Kubovsky was the recipient of numerous art awards, such as those from the City of Vienna, the Theodor Körner Foundation and the Province of Upper Austria, as well as the Austrian Graphics Competition in Innsbruck. In his remarkably extensive works - especially in thousands of hand drawings with pastels and charcoal - the striving for artistically adequate implementation of a real visual impression, the dynamics and vibrant city life and the unity of landscape and architecture are expressed.
