Michela Ghisetti (Bergamo/IT 1966) studied drawing and painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and at the Accademia Carrara in Bergamo, she lives in Vienna since 1992. The artist received a STRABAG Artaward recognition in 2005 and has since been represented in the Artcollection with numerous works. Michela Ghisetti's oeuvre is as multi-layered as life itself and testifies to an intensive examination of her own biography, her identity, loss and new beginnings. In still lifes, collages and sculptural works, in the drawings on Japanese paper created since 2003, but above all in the large-format portraits drawn stroke by stroke, true to detail and hyper-realistically - with incredible patience - the discourse with feminism, her own desires, problems and emotions are reflected. Ghisetti surprises the viewer with sensitive, playful and precise executions and does not shy away from opening up and experimenting with new themes.
