The Carinthian artist Meina Schellander (Klagenfurt 1946) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Maximilian Melcher. In addition to painting and graphic art, Schellander is concerned with object and conceptual art and creates sculptures and expansive spatial installations with great consistency. In developing her complex artistic œuvre, she follows her own strict, linear aesthetic after intensive thought processes and mostly uses traditional materials such as stone and metal, graphite drawings as well as photographic set pieces. Extensive graphic sketches and studies accompany Schellander's conceptual work. The STRABAG Artcollection includes works from the work cycles "Was die Welt zusammenhält" (What holds the world together) and "ZEIT-HIMMEL-ANTEIL" (TIME-HIMMEL-ANTEIL).
