The STRABAG Art Forum is showing the anniversary exhibition "Gottfried Salzmann - City Landscapes" on the occasion of the artist's 70th birthday.

In his extensive oeuvre, Gottfried Salzmann, whose work is also a focus of the STRABAG Artcollection, raised the art of watercolor painting to a fascinating level: In countless cityscapes from New York and San Francisco to Paris and Vienna, the native of Salzburg and now Parisian by choice combines watercolor with Mixed media, photography and collage. The artist sees himself primarily as a watercolorist who loves to exhaust the possibilities of the medium, but he is also always keen to build bridges to other visual arts. With his pictures, Gottfried Salzmann opens a window to urban life, which repeatedly inspires his work.

As part of the exhibition opening, the book “Gottfried Salzmann. Cityscapes. Urban landscapes, paysages urbains. From Paris to New York ”.
