Tracksuit and tie

Lately I've been working with everyday objects that fascinate me personally. The meaning or function of these objects are not important to me. I paint them in their actual size and do not allow myself any other perspective or illusionary background. Everything that can be seen can be found on the surface of the canvas, nothing more. The composition of the picture is based on certain geometrical principles, almost abstractly. The representation of the easily recognizable objects brings them back down to earth. I'm interested in the tension between the normal things that are part of everyday life and the artwork, which is some kind of sublime object. "Serving" and "served" objects receive the same attention. In my exhibition in the Strabag Artlounge I would also like to show older works with treatises of everyday culture. Alice Nikitinová
