Strabag Kunstforum Artcollection Vallazza Markus 01

The South Tyrolean painter and graphic artist Markus Vallazza (St. Ullrich/IT 1936-2019 Bolzano/IT) completed his art studies at the Istituto d`Arte Porta Romana in Florence with Renzo Grazzini. After his initial teaching activities as an art teacher, he devoted himself fully to his art from 1971 onwards. In a fantastic way and in his very own pictorial narratives, Vallazza interpreted works of world literature with his drawings and etchings, from Sophocles to Dante Alighieri to Friedrich Nietzsche, from Miguel de Cervantes' "Don Quixote" to Friederike Mayröcker. The themes always revolved around life and death, love and sensuality. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, the art book "Markus Vallazza. Der Weltenzeichner" was published.
