Strabag Kunstforum Artcollection Hofer Siggi 01

The artist Siggi Hofer (Bruneck/South Tyrol 1970), who comes from northern Italy, uses a wide variety of forms of expression and combines painting, sculpture, performance and video in his works. He deals with social issues and creates new thought-provoking impulses and discourses through his works and does not spare social criticism. In his city views and architectural constructs, Hofer leads us with great detail through world models that seem partly fictional, partly close to reality, raising the question of the ideal. The viewer's eye wanders through fictitious apartment blocks, stores, factories, houses, garages, and encounters written references in large letters, such as "END," "YES," or "NO," which on the one hand warn, and on the other hand, well camouflaged, anticipate a possible development. Now and then, there are blank spaces on the paper that hint at a terra incognita. Siggi Hofer was the winner of the STRABAG Artaward in 2006.
